| | WhatsUp Gold Features: Reporting
Keep track of device and application availability and response times to assist you in holding your service providers (SPs) accountable and as leading indicators for capacity planning and resource management. WhatsUp Gold can create several internal and external reports and graphs that show historical performance of your network.
Performance Graphs: You can create performance graphs that plot the accumulated polling statistics for selected subnets, devices, and/or network resources. These graphs can show aggregate data, such as the devices with the best and worst availability, or the devices with the highest and lowest response time, the best and worst days of the week for network performance, and more.
Outage reports show device up and down outages and can be viewed in a summary and detailed format. The detail format shows you the number of polls missed and the length of each downtime outage. The summary format shows you total number of system and service outages and the total downtime over the entire reporting period.
Activity Filtering with Log Manager Tool Administrators can easily pinpoint and resolve network problems without having to sort through lengthy streams of activity data using WhatsUp Gold's new Log Manager tool. Locating the log data for any type of network activity is made easy by searching on text such as an activity type, IP address or device name. This saves time, provides more flexibility, and also gives users more control since they can pinpoint information without having to sort through extensive data. Logs can also be filtered by date range and subsequently saved, printed, and copied, along with a new log archive management capabilities.
Statistics reports include key polling statistics summarized in a convenient per-device, per-day format. These statistics help show you average round-trip-time and percentage of polls missed. They are helpful in analyzing network problems and bottlenecks.
Both outage and statistics reports allow for you to specify the coverage period (week-to-date, last week, month-to-date, last month, or custom), and the order in which data is presented on the report. You can also print these reports, create tab-delimited file from them, or graph them using the Performance Graph feature (see above).
SNMP Performance Reports now include reports based on data retrieved. This allows you to identify historical trends and capacity problem areas with your system and network resources.
Import/export capabilities Device types, map, monitors and notification data are readily exportable in either XML or more simplified INI file formats - making these data available for import into external applications. Fully documented file formats allow external applications to output files that are easily imported to create fully functional objects within WhatsUp Gold.
Recurring reports Regular performance reporting can now be scheduled to run at specific intervals and sent to any recipient via email or posted to the web interface for on-demand viewing. Eliminates the need to run reports manually and ensures distribution of management information to network stakeholders. Reports can be saved in a variety of formats including, MSWORD, PDF and HTML.
