WhatsUp Exchange Monitor

By using WhatsUp Exchange Monitor, IT personnel can ensure that employees are able to send and receive mail, and access pertinent data stored from the Exchange server without compromise. The Exchange monitor will check for availability of the essential application services and performance metrics.

  • Capture real-time status of vital Exchange Services, such as the Mail Transport Agent or the Routing Engine Service to access status of message delivery
  • Manage the queue size based on number and size of messages waiting to ensure timely delivery and pinpoint potential bottlenecks
  • Ensure user accessibility to critical messages, documents and such that are stored on the server by monitoring the MAPI message store service
  • Set thresholds for Exchange Server CPU, Disk space, memory as well as any customized Exchange parameters to ensure optimal performance of your mail server(s)
Requirements
  • Microsoft Exchange Server 2000 or higher
  • WhatsUp Gold 8.01 or higher running on these operating systems:
    • Windows 2003 Server
    • Windows XP SP1 or later
    • Windows 2000 SP4 or later
    • Windows NT 4.0 SP6a or later
WhatsUp SQL Server Monitor

The WhatsUp SQL Server Monitor provides administrators the immediate awareness of database errors, performance and system load, allowing these critical resources to be managed in context of the overall network.

  • Immediately identifdy if the SQL Server engine has failed and/or local server jobs have ceased by monitoring the MSSQLSERVER service and the SQLSERVERAGENT service
  • Monitor key resources to understand system load and available memory to stay on top of database performance
  • Pinpoint SQL Server errors and their severity by monitoring for alerts that are generated by the application(s)
  • Assess how frequently users queries are returned with cache data in order to minimize the overload to cache which leads to slowed performance
